The Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company (ABDC)
is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) modern dance company dedicated to
the creation and
performance of modern dance. Artistic Directors, Carisa
Armstrong and Christine Bergeron, have been
choreographing professionally since 1998 and have
been collaborating together since moving to Bryan, TX in
2003. Their work
has been critically and popularly acclaimed in Texas, Ohio,
Illinois and Florida and been described as moving,
clever,
athletic,
and
skewed.
Most recently reviewers from the Dallas Morning News and the
Star-Telegram praised ABDC’s work
Velocity
calling it
daring,
effective
and
exhilarating.
In its
short existence, ABDC has travelled to perform and teach
master classes in Cleveland, Ohio, Manhattan, New York and
Puebla, Mexico as well as throughout Texas. In summer
2007, ABDC was selected to perform their evening length
work, All Aboard, in the New York International
Fringe Festival. Critics from the New York Times,
Curtain Call and Star Ledger described All Aboard as
"lyrically engaging and inventive."
Every
fall, ABDC presents its annual concert within the Brazos
Valley including repertory, new works and guest artist
works.
Our spring fundraiser features a new work performed
by the company, live music, food/drinks and a silent
auction/raffle.
The support from this fundraiser assists with the
artistic and administrative growth of the company as well as
its involvement within
the community.
ABDC is dedicated to connecting with the
community through art based outreach programs.
